Updated
Effective January 15, 2025. These digital banking terms establish a direct legal agreement between Greater Nevada Credit Union and members using our website and connected applications. Greater Nevada Credit Union operates as a federally insured state chartered credit union committed to transparent, secure financial access across Nevada.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing online services through greaternevada.us.com or enrolling in digital banking, you enter into a legally binding pact with Greater Nevada Credit Union. This contract defines your obligations and our responsibilities across every digital channel we provide. If you disagree with any portion of these conditions, you must discontinue your use of our digital platforms immediately.
To establish an online profile or manage services digitally, you certify that you are at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to enter contracts under applicable law. Minors seeking account details must act through an adult joint owner or legal guardian who accepts full accountability for online activity.
Greater Nevada Credit Union may revise these terms when operating requirements, technical capabilities, or state and federal regulations evolve. Whenever material updates take place, we publish the amended document with a renewed effective date directly on this site. Your active engagement with our digital systems following an update confirms that the updated standard controls your usage.
2. Membership Eligibility and Account Access
Digital banking access requires verified membership in Greater Nevada Credit Union. Membership qualification follows our credit union charter, requiring that you live or work in one of Nevada's 17 counties, or qualify through recognized familial or associational connections. Opening an initial share account and maintaining the required par value anchors your ownership standing.
Enrolling in our online platform requires providing accurate personal data, valid identification details, and active contact records. Our verification systems cross-reference submitted details against official sources to prevent identity manipulation. Providing false or misleading records during digital enrollment prompts immediate suspension of your virtual access.
Primary members bear sole responsibility for designations granted to secondary owners or authorized representatives. Any individual granted authorized signer status on your accounts may view transactions, initiate transfers, and execute payments through the digital interface. You remain liable for all actions taken by individuals you invite or permit onto your financial dashboard.
3. Scope of Online Banking Services
Greater Nevada Credit Union equips members to handle core financial tasks directly through greaternevada.us.com and associated portals. Authorized users can verify balances, inspect historical clearance records, move funds between credit union shares, and download electronic statements. All interactions must serve legitimate personal or business purposes aligned with your underlying account agreements.
Internal money transfers execute according to standard clearing schedules posted within the service dashboard. Outgoing wire instructions and external Automated Clearing House (ACH) requests undergo risk screening before release. We reserve the authority to reject, hold, or reverse any payment that trips security thresholds or exceeds posted monetary limits.
Electronic bill payment allows you to direct funds toward utilities, merchants, and individuals across the United States. You must establish payment instructions far enough in advance of the vendor due date to accommodate network processing intervals. Greater Nevada Credit Union does not assume responsibility for late penalties caused by inaccurate billing details or merchant processing delays.
Remote deposit capture lets you submit digital images of original paper checks for credit to your eligible accounts. Checks must carry the required endorsement, including your signature and the explicit notation that the item is presented for mobile deposit at Greater Nevada Credit Union. We retain absolute discretion to accept or decline any digital check image.
4. User Security and Credential Safeguards
Securing your account demands steady vigilance over login credentials. You must construct strong passwords containing distinct character sets and avoid sharing access keys with external parties. Greater Nevada Credit Union personnel will never call or message you asking for your secret password or one-time verification passcode.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) forms an indispensable line of defense within our security perimeter. When you sign in from an unrecognized browser or execute sensitive operations, our systems issue secondary codes to your validated contact endpoint. You agree to maintain accurate phone numbers and email paths to ensure these defensive alerts reach you without interruption.
Digital sessions automatically disconnect after intervals of inactivity to protect your data from casual observation on unattended devices. Always log out manually when concluding your banking work, particularly when using shared office computers or public Wi-Fi networks.
Notify Greater Nevada Credit Union without delay if you suspect that your login credentials, mobile phone, or payment tokens have suffered unauthorized exposure. Prompt outreach helps curtail exposure to losses from fraudulent transfers. Contact [email protected] immediately upon noticing questionable activity.
5. Electronic Disclosures and E-SIGN Consent
By engaging with our digital platforms, you consent to receive legal notices, periodic share statements, tax documentation, and regulatory disclosures through electronic channels under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act). This authorization supersedes demands for traditional paper mailings, streamlining communication directly to your secure digital inbox.
To view and preserve these electronic records, you need a modern computing device running a supported operating system, a current web browser with standard 128-bit or higher encryption, dedicated software capable of reading Portable Document Format (PDF) files, and sufficient local storage or printing capacity. You must also supply a stable, working email address capable of receiving inbound communications from greaternevada.us.com.
You retain the statutory right to withdraw your consent to electronic delivery at any point. To pull back this consent or request paper copies of specific statements, submit your instructions in writing to [email protected]. Greater Nevada Credit Union may assess standard paper statement production fees outlined in our published fee schedule following a withdrawal of electronic consent.
6. Prohibited System Activities
You agree to draw on Greater Nevada Credit Union digital assets strictly for legitimate financial transactions. Engaging in system abuse, unauthorized vulnerability probing, or network penetration tests against our infrastructure is strictly forbidden. Any attempt to decipher or tamper with operational code will trigger immediate legal countermeasures.
Automated extraction scripts, scrapers, data-mining engines, and software robots may not access our interfaces without prior written authorization from credit union management. You may not deploy malicious code, keystroke loggers, Trojan payloads, or scripts designed to impair server stability or overwhelm platform responsiveness.
Submitting forged checks, processing deceptive ACH pulls, laundering funds — or using the platform to purchase illicit merchandise violates these terms and state statutes. Greater Nevada Credit Union cooperates with law enforcement entities to expose and prosecute digital fraud initiated across our banking endpoints.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
Every visual asset, brand logo, software script, interface layout, and written narrative on greaternevada.us.com belongs exclusively to Greater Nevada Credit Union or our licensed technology providers. State common law and federal intellectual property statutes protect these materials from unauthorized reproduction.
The credit union name, distinctive service marks, graphic emblems, and program banners may not be used in connection with any third-party product without express advance permission. You receive only a narrow, revocable license to access our online services for managing personal or business accounts.
Copying, distributing, republishing, or creating derivative works from our digital architecture without explicit authorization constitutes copyright and trademark infringement. This limited license automatically ceases if you breach these terms or terminate your membership standing.
8. Mobile Banking Rules
Members operating our mobile banking application receive an individual, non-transferable license to execute financial workflows on personal smartphones and portable tablets. You must obtain this software exclusively through authorized digital distribution marketplaces approved by Greater Nevada Credit Union.
Maintaining the physical integrity of your mobile device rests entirely on your shoulders. Running our mobile software on devices subjected to root modifications, jailbreaking, or unauthorized operating system tampering voids service assurances and creates unacceptable data vulnerability risks. We recommend activating biometric locking features to shield the app from casual unauthorized access.
Remote check deposits carried out through your mobile camera remain subject to established transaction volume and aggregate dollar thresholds. We define these limits based on relationship tenure, historical activity, and risk profiles. Deposits submitted after daily cutoff deadlines process during the subsequent business cycle.
Push notifications supply valuable real-time notices regarding balances, cleared debits, and security challenges. By installing our mobile software, you approve the transmission of these informational signals to your handset. You can adjust alert preferences inside application settings, though critical security warnings cannot be disabled.
9. Third-Party Portals and External Services
Our web pages and digital banking interfaces may feature outbound links to third-party providers, payment processors, credit bureaus, and informative resources. Greater Nevada Credit Union provides these pathways for convenience and does not endorse the contents, products, or privacy practices of external operations.
When you leave greaternevada.us.com to enter an external destination — our security rules and operating policies no longer control your experience. You should examine the specific usage conditions and confidentiality rules governing each destination before entering sensitive data or executing financial transactions.
Greater Nevada Credit Union disclaims liability for monetary losses, data leaks, or service failures arising from your interactions with external merchants or integrated partner services. Your engagements with outside entities remain solely between you and the vendor.
10. Limitation of Liability
Greater Nevada Credit Union delivers all digital banking capabilities on an "as is" and "as available" standard. We explicitly disclaim all representations and warranties, whether statutory, express, or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a specific purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted uptime, zero-error calculations, or instantaneous technical repairs.
Neither Greater Nevada Credit Union nor our directors, committee volunteers, employees — or technology vendors shall be held responsible for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. This protective perimeter covers lost profits, missed business opportunities, and emotional distress connected to platform outages, software delays, or delayed communications.
Our aggregate liability for any direct claim arising from your use of digital banking shall never exceed the fees you paid to Greater Nevada Credit Union for the particular service during the three-month period immediately preceding the event. Certain jurisdictions limit the waiver of specific implied warranties; in those locales, our liability conforms to the narrowest exposure permitted by law.
Unforeseen events beyond our reasonable control—including utility grid collapses, telecommunications cutoffs, labor disputes, extreme weather emergencies, viral pandemics, or national emergency orders—relieve Greater Nevada Credit Union from performance obligations during the disruption.
11. Indemnification Obligations
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Greater Nevada Credit Union, and our elected officials, staff, agents, and software suppliers, from any legal claims, liabilities, judgments, and legal expenses arising from your misuse of our digital channels. This defense obligation survives the closure of your accounts.
This defensive shield applies directly to situations where you compromise account security, permit third parties to leverage your login profiles, or breach the terms detailed in this document. It likewise covers damages sustained by the credit union due to fraudulent mobile deposits, abusive chargeback demands, or violations of third-party intellectual property rights executed under your profile.
12. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Nevada Governing Law
If a disagreement emerges between you and Greater Nevada Credit Union concerning our digital services, we encourage you to seek informal resolution first. Contact our administrative team to present your concerns, allowing us thirty business days to examine records, evaluate transactional logs, and formulate a practical resolution.
Any unresolved legal claim, dispute — or controversy arising out of these terms or our digital banking tools must be resolved exclusively through individual binding arbitration. The arbitration shall take place within Carson City, Nevada, conducted before a single neutral arbitrator following standard commercial arbitration rules. Judgment on the resulting award may be entered in any court possessing lawful jurisdiction.
You and Greater Nevada Credit Union mutually waive the right to pursue disputes as a class representative, private attorney general, or collective plaintiff in any judicial or arbitral forum. All claims must proceed on an individual basis. Neither party may consolidate multiple claims or join proceedings with claims held by other account holders.
The internal laws of the State of Nevada govern the interpretation, validity, and enforcement of these terms of service, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles. For any matters not subject to arbitration, you submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts situated in Carson City, Nevada.
13. Termination and Suspension of Access
Greater Nevada Credit Union reserves the authority to suspend or permanently revoke your digital banking privileges at any time, with or without advance warning, if we suspect security breaches, unauthorized credential sharing, or deceptive transaction patterns. Revocation of digital access does not automatically close your underlying membership shares.
You may cancel your digital banking enrollment at any time by issuing formal notification to the credit union. Terminating digital access disables automated scheduled transfers and ongoing bill pay sequences that have not yet cleared processing.
Ending your digital credentials does not eliminate outstanding debits, overdrafts, or operational fees incurred prior to account cancellation. All accrued balances remain due according to the base account agreement.
